You start your day at whatever time works
for you. The phone calls begin, business
and personal. The kitchen calls to you
that it’s time for a snack. You have a
mid-day personal thing, like the kids school pick up, or a medical appointment. While you are working on your emails, you
click a link that catches your attention and before you know it an hour more
has passed. You answer several e-mails,
make a few changes to your website.
Meanwhile, that important service, product or program you are developing
sits and waits….. again.
accomplished some things for sure, but not much that will move you forward.
strategies are missing in this picture:
Focus and Accountability. Since
now you are your own boss with only yourself to answer to, you can give
yourself time off, become easily distracted by whatever comes your way, and
lose focus. Unless you are an expert at
self-discipline, it’s tough to be productive, meet your personally set
deadlines, or set priorities without some sort of outside pressure to push you
