You pick it up, put it down, leave the room and wonder what
in the world you went in there for.
Welcome to the world of mental clutter. There’s so much on
your mind that your mind behaves like a colander. Some of the stuff dumped in
stays and the rest of it falls out the holes.
Or, it could be that you are in the world of physical
clutter. Perhaps there are so many piles and stacks on your desk that by the
time you fumble through them, you can’t remember what you were looking for.
Then again, I hate to break it to
you, but you might be experiencing emotional clutter. There’s just too much to
do. Your mom needs help with your dad. Your son is struggling with school work
and your daughter just doesn’t seem to fit in with those middle school girls.
At work, there seem to be grown up clicks and you feel out of step and worry
that you’ll get cut. Let’s not even start in on your romantic relationship. I mean,
who has the time for that!
