Sometimes, or maybe
all the time, our world is filled with chatter. You might be checking emails
before you ever get out of bed. From morning to night, you are bombarded with
information. It is no wonder that your mind is a monkey leaping about. Just as your
body needs rest, so does your mind. Sometimes, you just need to turn it off.
Block out a small amount of time to come into stillness. That might be a
practice of yoga or meditation. Or it might just be a no-technology walk or
hike, a closing of your eyes and tuning in to some soothing music or sitting
outside in the sun listening to sounds around you. Stop the flow of incoming
information and the monkey is sure to slow down.
