While the so-called clutter might actually be useful items,
having them on display in your office is not useful. The visual space in your
office should help you prioritize and focus at the tasks on your to-do list.
Piles and stacks here and there create a kind of static. It is similar to
listening to a song on a radio interrupted by static. The song is familiar and
you can hear it but the static is so annoying that it ruins your ability to
enjoy the music in a constant flow. The clutter in your office is visual static
that interrupts your work flow.
