As Professional Organizers, our industry is a little different from other service based companies. Our target market rather business or residential are individuals who are disorganized or perhaps organized, but don’t have the proper tools in place. Therefore, our target market is not likely to find us in a magazine or in penny savers.
We have to be extremely creative when marketing to our target market. I hope you enjoy our tips.
– Create a specialty niche. For example, Feng Shui, how many organizers specialize in Feng Shui? How about Eco-Friendly organizers? Creating a specialty niche will get you in front of your target market.
-Create a referral program. Consider offering a free hour of organizing for referrals. Granted the referral is a valid prospect. Discounts work as well. Think about who could utilize your services; real estate agents, personal assistants, coaches, interior designers.
-Consider a product for your target market. i.e. eBooks, Audio CD’s.
-Create fun t-shirts. They are wonderful conversation starters and you never know who you will meet while wearing one. View ours at http://www.organizewithlove.com/products.html.
-Be a guest on a show or have someone interview you.
-Host a Organizing Home Party where you provide tips and demonstrate how to organize a area.
-Send a unique card. I use Send Out Cards and I find it’s a wonderful tool for keeping in touch with clients. Sending a special card to clients on their anniversary, b-days and just because is a wonderful marketing tool as you really don’t see that level of customer service anymore. You can find more about Send Out Cards at
Until next time…
