Every New Year my friends say to me, I am really going to get organized this year for sure. That basement I have been avoiding? The closet in the spare room? I am going to get those jobs done! I nod my head and offer my help, and when I see them a few weeks later, they tell me it’s on their list. In May it is still on the list. In August they start to avoid eye contact with me. In October, they avoid me completely. And in December, they say it again. I am really going to get organized this year for sure.
Believe me, I understand. We all know that the best intentions sometimes go awry. It happens to me, too. And probably you as well. But since I am an organizer by trade, I thought I could outline a plan to help you (and my friends, if they read this) get started down that road.
One of the points I want to share with you I also share with all my clients: we have to have plan! No wonder my friends and you come to dead end around mid-year. Without a plan, the task is overwhelming, scary, and the job seems insurmountable. So I am going to give all of you some of the secrets of organization that I use when working with my clients in this three part series to help you and my friends (you know who you are!) get some stick-to-it-ness. That is my new word I made up for the upcoming year!
Until Next Time….
