Give your resolution a chance. Don’t kill it off without
thinking about some of these steps. It doesn’t matter if you want to learn
something new or stop spending money; there are some basic things that apply to
Avoid Unrealistic Expectations: I’m sure you’ve seen a TV show where a reality
contestant has lost a ton of weight or redecorated an entire home in an hour.
Of course you logically know that it took a ton of time and there is a ton of
film on the editing floor, as the saying goes. The show has condensed it down
to an hour- even if it took all year. So be kind to yourself. Be realistic and
know that it will take time to get things the way you want. In the world of New
Year’s resolutions, it is much more important to have a start date than an end
date. Get started and stick with it. Don’t worry about when it will be done.
You’ll be done when you are done.
