The anxiety you feel by a looming deadline
is actually a good thing. The adrenaline rush needed to push on and complete a
goal comes along and slams into you. It propels
Anytime you have an open-ended task, such
as “One of these days I am finally going to paint the exterior of my house,” it’s
just not going to happen. If you don’t go to the paint store and get the paint,
block out a weekend to actually do it and line up some help, you’ll think about
painting your house every time you pull in the driveway but it won’t take
Sales goals at work exist for a reason.
Semesters end with a report card for a reason. Diets start with and end with a
goal weight for a reason. Deadlines work.
Some items on your list come equipped with deadlines, such as paying taxes by
April 15th or submitting your MBA application by closing date. Other
items on your list require you to assign them a deadline. You need to establish
a deadline for beginning the project as well as one to complete the project.
The assigned deadlines help you prioritize
your to-do list.
