same time, leaving no time for the unexpected.
Or worse, we schedule two things at the same time. There comes a point when we get tired of
saying “I’m so sorry, I must have double-booked,” or “I
hate being late, it won’t happen again”.
We realize we have to do something… but what?
When we take on too much we feel stressed and MAXed-out.
We try to cut things out, but everything
seems important. Time management
strategies can help, but many of us DO actually take on more than we can
handle. We fill our plate to the point
of over-flowing, and when one more thing comes our way, we feel like the whole
world is going to collapse.
Undue stress and pressure caused by over-doing and over-booking can lead to:
– trouble sleeping
loss of productivity – overeating
depression – substance abuse
car accidents – accidental injuries
On top of that, if our lives are overbooked, we probably aren’t taking care
of ourselves (mentally, emotionally, spiritually). Also important: are we feeding the
relationships that are most important in our lives?
Until next time…
