Yesterday, I decided to take a mini break from work and get supplies for an upcoming presentation. I immediately thought of Hobby Lobby. I was sure they would have what I needed-miniature hangers. Unfortunately, they did not-guess it’s off to Michael’s down the road.
As I approached the cashier, I noticed several people getting out of one line and going to another one. So I followed suit-be careful of who you follow ;-). The lady in front of me had not one but two carts. I thought I’m not in a hurry and perhaps this will be quick. Okay maybe I was wrong, so I got back in the other line and what do you know I’m outta here. But not before the sky turned black, the wind picked up and what do you know, it’s raining. I mean crazy rain drops. Maybe I can make it to my car. Hot dogs on a Friday, I parked at the far end of the parking lot- Argh!!
It shouldn’t rain long, so I’ll wait…or so I thought… Out of nowhere the automatic doors opened, wind, rain and anything in the path was thrown about. I quickly walked (should have ran) back into the main part of the store. Lucky for me because the furniture and accessories that was displayed where I was standing got knocked around-You can’t imagine the amount of water that came in. Then the power went out in the store. Can you imagine being in a large store like Hobby Lobby and the power goes out? I mean it was pitch dark. I didn’t hear any screams so I assumed only a few people were in the store…NOT, there were at least 20 when they finally made it to the front.
If you’re wondering what’s going on outside, it’s coming down like cats and dogs and you can see the thunder-not a pretty sight. I tell this story because there are times in our lives when we’re in a hurry. We have to get here or there. We get frustrated waiting in line. Remember the lady I was originally behind in line, had I not been behind her and gotten out five minutes sooner, who knows what would have happened. Oh by the way, there was a bad accident on the highway-the direction I was headed…
What do you do when life comes at you fast? Remember this too shall pass. Put your patience in your pocket and you’ll be fine… as long as you don’t park at the far end of the parking lot when it’s pouring down raining. 😉
